One of our key Oil and Gas Operators with a substantial operational base in Aberdeen are now looking to recruit an experienced Asset Planner on a Temporary PAYE contract basis.

Role Overview
Responsible for building and maintaining the integrated longer term plan for the Offshore Asset.

Key Accountabilities
1 Responsible for the development and management of the 5 year to 12 week Asset Plan, with a key focus on the 2 year to 5 year plans.
2 Perform the monitoring, development and maintenance of planning control structures in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
3 Work with the Maintenance Scheduler (0-12 weeks) and the Site Integrator (0-12 weeks) to integrate, optimise and maintain the longer term Asset Plan.
4 Own and maintain Asset Planning Procedure and the Constraints Document that describes the constraints to scheduling activities ie: POB Limits, Constraints/Buffers and Resource Loading.
5 Perform the monitoring and maintenance of baseline asset plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software.
6 Host and co-ordinate the monthly 2 year schedule review meetings and half yearly 5 year schedule review meetings.
7 With the Site Integrator ensure the Platform POB histogram is being managed.
9 Work with all relevant support functions and disciplines to build and maintain the Asset Plan. Liaise with scope owners to minimise potential conflict between work-scopes to be implemented.
10 Complete quality check on logic and dependencies / constraints on activities. Note areas of conflict (resource over allocations). Resource-level activities (ready to go).
11 Interface with Asset team with regard to pre/post Shutdown activities and also Shutdown specific critical activities.
12 Produce project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements, gathering accurate progress and performance status reports at relevant time intervals and update asset plans and produce reports, where required, with appropriate data in accordance with project reporting requirements.
13 Communicate the impact of schedule delays / conflicts to the asset team to assist in the development of recovery decisions.
14 Update Cost Models with changes.
15 Prepare any other work activity specific plans as required ie: shutdown plan, etc.


Educated to Higher level or equivalent.
BOSIET/FOET, MIST and Offshore Medical or willingness to obtain is preferable.

Candidate Profile
Key skills and experience required for the role include:

  • Experienced Planner with a proven track record in Asset planning and / or Project planning positions.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of and familiarity with manual and computerised project planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Experienced in integrated asset planning in support of upstream oil & gas installations in the UKCS; including late-life assets.
  • Working knowledge of logistical support / constraints.
  • Knowledge of the following systems, software, procedures and regulations for the role includes:

  • Working knowledge of CMMS programmes (Maximo, Maisy) is desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of planning software (Primavera).
  • Willingness to travel offshore
