Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician on Harding on a permanent basis. Rotation is 2/3.

Basic Purpose of Job:

  • Carry out preventative, planned and remedial maintenance as described in client’s maintenance management system work instructions.
  • Plan and prepare all paperwork including risk assessments and permits, to complete the maintenance tasks.
  • Responsible for carrying out Isolations in a competent manner, complying with Safety Management System and legislative requirements.
  • Responsible for weekly monitoring checks on safety and production critical equipment, reporting any deviation of set parameters and raise work orders in client’s maintenance management system.
  • Carry out major services, overhauls and intrusive maintenance on platform equipment.
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on all platform equipment, ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly.
  • Carry out inspections on all portable equipment and complete relevant paperwork.
  • Ensure critical spares are available and any discrepancies are addressed
  • Provide technical instruction and guidance to ad hoc personnel and new team members

  • Main Duties:


  • Carry out maintenance activities as directed by relevant Supervisor complying with all working and reporting procedures and relevant standards.
  • To maintain the process plant in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all work carried out complies with Client Guidelines and Procedures.
  • Adhere to all legislative, environmental and company standards and procedures.


  • Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency and cut cost or time without loss of integrity and present idea(s) to relevant management.
  • Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.


  • Adopt flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success.
  • Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict
  • Maintain effective communication with peers and other work groups
  • Develop and expand to a multi-skilled role within production operations.


  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the offshore organisation & onshore based support team
  • Ensure a safe and comprehensive handover is given at shift or crew change with all pertinent operational and maintenance information to relevant personnel.
  • Provide constructive input to platform meetings, planning, initiatives etc.
  • To report any defect or inspection reports in a clear and concise manner and record all pertinent information in the relevant logs.


  • Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with the Client Safety Management System, including platform safety regulations and positively support all safety initiatives and improvements
  • Proactively contribute to delivery against HSE plans and improvement objectives.
  • Be aware of physical condition of plant & equipment to ensure technical integrity is maintained; raise issues and concerns identified.
  • Skills / Qualifications:
    S/NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship
