Head of HSEQS 31 views

Our Head of HSEQ will provide effective HSEQ management and support under the company HSEQ System, based either Lowestoft, Aberdeen or Liverpool. You’ll provide effective management of the company sustainability plan and initiatives.

Ensure alignment of HSEQ support among all relevant stakeholders, driving behaviour. We will look to you to develop, implement and drive the HSEQ and Sustainability strategy and ensure consistency, monitoring through clear and timely reports and taking action where required.

You will be an experienced and efficient leader, with excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for ensuring the development and smooth and efficient running of all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management systems with due consideration to the constraints within a commercial entity.
  • Responsible for the Management of all applicable certification to, as minimum, ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety).
  • Responsible for the Maintenance of all records, KPI’s and statistics for all HSEQ activities.
  • Responsible for the Maintenance of all records, KPI’s and statistics for all Sustainability activities.
  • Proactively react to a range of circumstance that may require swift and timely action at any level in the business to protect the interest of the business with due considerations to the commercial implications any resulting actions may have.
  • Proactively develop HSE and Sustainability initiatives, with a view to continual improvement and evolution of the company culture.
  • Close liaison with all Directors and Companies Managers across the company
  • Act as senior representative for the company advising and managing interaction with HSE and regulatory agencies.
  • Approve and plan the HSEQ audit schedules in accordance and in line with the requirements of all approvals and accreditations held, including all supplier audits.
  • Ensuring reporting of and effective closure of all non–conformances and incidents is carried out at all levels in the company in a timely manner with due regards to operational activity and cost.
  • Manage all company HSEQS administration and interact and assist all HSEQS resource to ensure delivery.
  • Provide the various Management Team’s with monthly HSEQ and Sustainability performance reports and maintain all HSEQ Rolling action items’ lists.
  • Provide twice yearly Management Reviews focused on KPI performance, Health & Safety YTD and rolling, Audits both internal and external, Company focus areas such as cost of non-quality and HSEQ improvement plan.
  • Report and advice on relevant HSEQ statutory and industry changes.
  • Provide practical and hands on advice and support to all stakeholders
  • Assist and advise Directors and operational teams on Risk Assessments and safe systems of work as required (generic and specific).
  • Responsible for the management and development and maintenance of company Security Processes.
  • Work with Directors, Heads of Departments and HSEQS staff to guarantee compliance on all regulatory requirements in relation to HSEQ and Sustainability.
  • Structure, develop and lead a high performing team in pursuit of corporate HSEQS objectives instilling ownership, responsibility and accountability.
  • Identify, develop and implement resourcing planning, talent management and succession planning in line with business needs.
  • To interact and communicate with fellow Directors and Heads of Departments to ensure optimum performance to enable, deliver and achieve the strategic objectives set by the board
    OTHER TASKS/GENERAL
  • The Head of HSEQS will support the JFMS leadership team (member of) and be accountable for the provision of regular and accurate reporting on all issues within the above principal accountabilities
  • The Head of HSEQS will work within such delegated authorities levels as may be conferred and will seek the appropriate permissions as required

  • Delivery against the Strategy Document / Business Plan
  • P&L Budgets are met
  • HSEQ and Sustainability KPIs’ are met
  • All reporting and forecasting deadlines are met
  • All HR procedures and processes are adhered to and managed
  • DIRECT REPORTS/TEAM

  • The Head of HSEQS will manage the HSEQS department and in so doing ensure that their direction, welfare, discipline, training, budget compliance, expenses, holidays, KPI’s & targets and their general behaviour are all managed in accordance with the appropriate James Fisher Group policies and procedures
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma level NEBOSH, H&S and Environmental qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable, relevant and similar capacity experience in HSEQ Management role preferably in Subsea and Marine Operations for Oil&Gas and Offshore Wind;
  • Previous experience with commercial diving companies (saturation and air);
  • Previous experience in driving sustainability plans and initiatives;
  • Excellent PC skills in order to develop communications and produce statistics and reports
  • Demonstrable compliance to legislation and use of problem solving skills / personal judgement as well as policy adherence in order to make optimum business decision
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative.
  • Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Possess good project background and technical writing ability and skills.
  • Significant understanding of HSEQ Legislation and practical implementation
  • Adept at utilising the full HR Cycle to drive people performance and engagement
  • Proven at delivering results and meeting financial and operational KPIs
  • A strong understanding of change cultures and organisational development.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to influence and persuade key internal stakeholders to deliver customer solutions and achieve results
  • A self-starter who is adept at working with cross-functional teams and is skilled at selling a vision to customers and employees alike
  • Highly personable with excellent leadership and management skills, and an ability to identify an opportunity and develop it from conception to completion
  • Very strong presentation skills
  • International experience – Europe, Asia Pac, USA would be desirable
