Purpose:

Working across 4 Business Units within the Group Companies, your role will be to lead the Procurement/Supply Chain Team both to deliver leadership and the strategic direction of all procurement and supply chain activities into the organisation whilst also ensuring that it obtains best value for money whilst complying with all legal and legislative requirements.

You will also support the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) in the development and subsequent delivery of ambitious and leading edge strategic development plans for the procurement service, including but not limited, the requirement to develop shared service models for the procurement function and lead on e-enabled procurement solutions across the Group which will identify ways to unlock significant savings, whilst ensuring that quality is maintained and further enhanced.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a strong background within procurement, as well as evidence of leading and developing large teams and managing high profile procurement exercises and delivering value for money and efficiency savings across a complex organisation.

Key Deliverables:

  • Creating and driving a robust Procurement plan across the Group companies.
  • Accountable for the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the global supply chain including import/export, quality, cost of delivery, sub-contracting as well as continuous improvements.
  • Establish a global Supply Chain strategy, aligned with the Group’s 5 year Business Plans and execute detailed plans to bring it to life.
  • Establishes and maintains relevant KPI’s, appropriate scorecards, an effective escalation matrix, and an appropriate cadence of strategic and tactical business reviews in coordination with the broader Group strategy creating transparency, predictability, and accountability
  • Produce ‘executive summaries’ for CFO measuring actual third party spend and savings against plan targets.
  • As a key member of the leadership team, foster a collaborative and proactive approach, and recommend and implement solutions to company issues to drive performance enabling the company to meet and exceed its short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Provide strategic sourcing mindset with strong commercial negotiation skills. Will instill and encourage a strategic purchasing approach and effective tactical and strategic management of partners and suppliers.
  • Develop clear and effective performance metrics for the Group, as well as individuals, measuring the effectiveness; use metric trends and data to drive the business and decisions therein.
  • Provide people leadership focused upon personal and collective accountability while fostering an environment that enhances personal growth and career development through mentoring and ongoing training.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the department is committed to and conforms to the company quality, safety, and corporate responsibility systems and procedures as documented across the Group.
  • Managing, influencing and upskilling a globally dispersed team of direct reports, driving high efficiency & value output.
  • Responsible for the vendor supply base, creation of an approved suppliers list (ASL) and management of both. Ensure that the monitoring of existing vendors and selection of new vendors is completed, taking into account risk, criticality to the business, performance and cost.
  • Leading in supplier dispute resolution activities or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity.
  • Collaborate on global Procurement solutions efficiency and process consistency.
  • Provide tactical/technical leadership to the Supply Chain team to create strong credibility and followership.
  • Foster & support a “one team” culture for Supply Chain and the Group as a whole.
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    Required

  • Full MCIPS or equivalent relevant business degree.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ Procurement experience in a senior/strategic role.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Proven working knowledge of Contract terms, conditions and management.
  • Ability to manage and train in RFQ, ITT, Evaluation Procedures, Sealed Bid Opening through to Contract Award, conducting Supplier De-Briefs.
  • Proven strategic sourcing, influence and negotiation skills is paramount.
  • Experience of leading organisational change and implementing new procedures.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing / category management across a broad and diverse range of goods and services.
  • Extensive experience of delivering complex projects on time and under budget.
  • Ability to manage demanding workload with multiple conflicting and changeable priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels in the business.
  • Good working knowledge of all ‘Microsoft’ applications: particularly SharePoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A dynamic individual, being a good team player that is flexible and can function well under pressure.
  • Ability to train small teams in the roll out of new processes, procedures and work instructions across the Group
  • Ideal

    Experience of Oil and Gas or Marine industry. Experience of Offshore Renewables industry.

  • Experience in project procurement on an international basis.
