Provide instrumentation & control technical support to, and implement instructions from, the Project Manager.
Take ownership of instrumentation & control technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the Project Engineering Manager
Provide supervision, direction and support to all project specific instrumentation & control engineering personnel within the team.
Ensure the instrumentation & control engineering support provided satisfies the appropriate asset safety case and that the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, Emergency Response (PFEER) performance standards are not compromised by any instrumentation & control engineering activity.
Contribute to the development of the plans, schedules and estimates for the individual workscopes.
Review of job progress and cost reports regarding instrumentation & control engineering activities.
Ensure that all instrumentation & control design changes are captured by the change control process.
Ensure that all instrument & control engineering work is carried out in accordance with Asset priorities and schedules as set out in the integrated plan.
Ensure as far as possible all discipline work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.
Preparation of engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary
Produce documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks, and or, design books on time to meet offshore deadlines.
Responsible as a key member of any project team for achieving the project target and completion of the project within the budget and schedule
Responsible for specific change and improvement initiatives.
Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the scope of the discipline, including assisting in the training and technical development of engineers.
Ensure that all instrumentation & control work complies with project and Petrofac health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures; project specific HSE and quality plans; and agreed interfacing requirements with sub-contractors as appropriate.
Ensure that all instrumentation & control activities are carried out with all appropriate consideration to the safety of the labour and the Asset itself.
Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer for a duration of 12 months based in Aberdeen.

Must be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards.
Must be willing to travel offshore/site
Capable of representing Petrofac OPO and Client to business associates in a professional manner
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant discipline specific software
Demonstrates cross-cultural awareness and an ability to build effective working relationships across our global business
Degree or equivalent or HND/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status/member of a recognised institution preferred.
Necessary certification for travel offshore.
