Manager, Offshore Coordination

We now have a number of opportunities to play a part in a high-profile and exciting policy area. You’ll be part of a new team that will work with Government and energy industry participants to develop the framework that will support the enhanced offshore transmission capacity that is essential to realising the UK’s ambitions to achieve net zero, while ensuring a safe and secure supply. You’ll have the opportunity to support the development of policy and regulations that affects offshore transmission – consulting extensively with stakeholders and making recommendations to senior management. You’ll often find yourself representing Ofgem in external meetings, presenting the rationale behind our approach – sometimes on contentious issues. You’ll undertake risk analyses and formulate projections of the impact of different policy options, promoting the interests of energy consumers throughout.


We expect that you will have previous experience of working with complex concepts and subject matter and making recommendations on policy issues. You’ll need excellent communication and engagement skills that help you to collaborate well with others and convey complex messages (in writing and in person). You should also have practical experience of identifying and mitigating risks and maintaining high standards of work even when meeting challenging deadlines – prioritising as required. It’s important that you can work well in a fast-paced environment and respond well to unforeseen issues or challenges that present themselves.
