Specific Responsibilities

Mechanical Support Engineer – Pumps for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Maintenance Team at the company’s North Sea office reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator. This role acts as the technical focal point for all Central North Sea pump related matters.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Overseeing planned overhauls, breakdown and corrective pump maintenance

Monitoring asset pump performance and reliability

Ensuring that the correct priorities for all CNS asset pumps are being progressed, resolved and communicated efficiently to offshore and onshore management as necessary

Managing approved CAPEX and OPEX budget expenditure for all pumps

Ensuring critical and operational spares are sourced and held within Apache Inventory

Providing interface with Engineering, Maintenance & Project Groups on mechanical pump engineering issues

Supporting development, implementation and compliance with new and existing maintenance strategies

Recommending the use of new technologies to increase reliability and efficiency and drive cost reduction

Witnessing pump strip downs, repairs and factory acceptance testing

Interfacing with Supply Chain department in terms of meeting contract requirements, raising of Purchase Orders and adhering to the procurement processes

Conducting Vendor audits, assessments and evaluations

Conducting root cause analysis and reporting of pump failures where appropriate

Conducting periodic Offshore visits to the CNS assets

Professional Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

Accredited Bachelors or Honours degree in engineering or technology, or equivalent practical experience

Proficient knowledge and practical experience of all types of centrifugal pumps

Knowledge and understanding of API 610 / ISO 1309 standard

Ability to work in fast-paced environment, in multidisciplinary teams and managing vendors

Hands-on experience of developing and updating procedures, Turnaround planning, MOC review & implementation

Use of SAP (or equivalent system) maintenance management system is highly preferable

Valid OGUK Medical

Valid BOSIET / FOET & EBS
