Position Summary

OceanSMART is seeking skilled Maritime, Software and data science professionals to join our dynamic team. As Product Data & Insight Manager you will be an integral part of the Product team. Your primary role will be to ensure all OceanSMART services have the validated data and insight sources they require to operate and deliver the strategy.

As a member of the Product Management Team, you will participate in the development of the roadmap, leading the specification of data requirements and the subsequent sourcing of the same.

The role has an active external aspect leading and managing the relationships with data vendors and partners, to ensure the continued enhancement and relevance of the OceanSMART product suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Domain expert on data and insight
  • Specification and identification of insight value
  • Identification, sourcing, ingestion and maintenance of Master data
  • Data Management Experience

  • Experience as a Data Analytics product manager
  • Experience of Maritime and Cargo Logistics supply chain
  • Experience with data collection and maintenance processes
  • Duties & Responsibilities

    Responsible for ensuring all OceanSMART services have the validated data and insight sources they require to operate and deliver the strategy. As a member of the Product Management Team, participate in the development of the roadmap, leading the specification of data requirements and the subsequent sourcing of the same.

    Responsibilities / Functions

  • Identification and requirement development for insight to enable reduction of waste
  • Identification, sourcing, of Master data
  • Identify and source third party data
  • Manage data suppliers and partners and industry body relationships,
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director, Maritime Digital Products, Sales & Marketing
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Extensive experience leading Data Analytics product management
  • Extensive experience with data sourcing
  • Extensive experience working with a service provider delivering to the Bulk Logistics industry
  • DESIRED

  • Modern data governance skillset
  • A desire to change an industry that has never desired change
  • Desire to be a part of working from a small team to a major operation
  • Ability to quickly learn new products, interfaces, and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment
