We are looking for an Offshore Wind Farm Technician to join our Humber O&M Team

location: Humber

  • Carryout maintenance and servicing of wind turbines and balance of plant, including servicing, reactive and proactive maintenance, inspections, modifications, retrofits and main component exchanges.
  • Work in a small team with minimal supervision.
  • Work proactively and flexibly to minimise failures and maximise the Energy Yield.
  • Utilise SCADA systems and other computer based systems to interrogate turbines, to reset faults, to instigate maintenance activities and build up a fault/failure histories.
  • Be prepared to have a flexible approach to working hours around the weather and workload, to be on call outside normal working hours and flexible to travel to other sites within the fleet.
  • Preparation of work plans and documentation within SAP.
  • Maintain maintenance records, electronic and paper, of all work performed on plant.
  • Proactively assist in all areas of site operations, working on projects, spares and other non-routine works.
  • Enact a number of roles under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules & E&M rules;

    o Competent Technician

    Senior Authorised Person (either hold or working towards)

  • Engage in the development of new, improved field procedures and activities and best practices, this will include assisting with writing Operational Procedures, Method Statements, Work Instructions, Approved Written Procedures.
  • Proactively identify & take ownership of tasks or projects to improve safety, turbine performance or general working.
  • Essential:

    Vestas V112 WTG Experience

    Experience of being an Authorised Technician under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules

  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience as a wind turbine technician, related to O&M or commissioning activities.
  • A sound understanding of HSSE systems, to establish a safe work environment.
  • Experienced in mechanical, electrical, power electronics and hydraulic trouble shooting and maintenance activities.
  • Have a proven ability to troubleshoot on complex systems.
  • Competent slinger and banksman.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel in some special cases to support other off and onshore sites
  • Good IT Office skills.
  • First Aid at Work, Working at Heights Training / Tower Rescue, offshore survival & offshore medical
  • A Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good communications skills written and verbal.
