Performance Execution Manager (S&OP / Core Commercial Cycle (CCC))

GSK is transforming its Supply Chain to align with best in class performance. To achieve this, the organisation will be required to deliver an integrated end to end Supply Chain, aligned to the business objectives. The new Franchise Planning organisation brings a new Central Planning organisation that is tailored to the business priorities set by Commercial.

This role will be part of the Classic and Established Product (CEP) Franchise planning team, focusing and supporting the Regional teams in Emerging markets and Intercon region. This role will lead the performance management and governance processes within the regional supply chain teams. Identify opportunities and priorities for continuous improvements in terms of service performance, while better balancing this with cost, cash / inventory to drive through improved leadership decision-making. This position will also coordinate Emerging Market and intercom region’s Inventory management process, facilitate the governance meetings and develop and deliver required analytical solutions and capabilities to the team. Lastly, this role will provide expertise to drive the improvement plan for CCC* Maturity in Regional S&OPs and the Connectivity meetings effectiveness through embedding of processes and build capability which best support the business needs. This role will have analytical offshore recourse to manage that will support you with all the respective governance preparation, reporting and analytical requirements.

This role will partner with the Global Process Owners, Capability, Analytics, Data Quality, and ERP SME resources both within the Supply Chain Performance team and within the Supply Chain Services function to co-develop and deploy necessary process/tool Capability enhancements in the franchise-aligned planning team in the regions.

You will be an orchestrator within supply chain. Through supporting and contributing to key decisions, you will have a holistic view of the supply chain, including how it connects with commercial and other business areas such as finance, sites, regional teams and more. Being involved in this bigger picture will offer you significant variety in your daily role, including both the tasks you are involved in, and the stakeholders you work with. You will flex your communication and influencing skills, developing an excellent network and skillset.

  • CCC = Core Commercial Cycle sometimes known as the S&OP Cycle

  • Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partnering with the Global Process Owner or Capability teams in the Supply Chain Services function, deploying the CCC* capability / competency framework defined. Supporting team managers in the franchise-aligned planning team to create and drive improvement plans for CCC* processes
  • Providing expertise/support for the Regional Therapy Director, recommending improvement initiatives for driving improved supply chain performance working with key stakeholder groups e.g. Franchise team, Logistics, Procurement, Finance
  • Defining reporting standards and KPIs including leading indicators
  • Lead a supply chain continuous improvement program to deliver service, cost and cash benefits; creates appropriate tracking and reporting mechanisms for performance
  • Deploy changes to processes and systems as a result of projects, new tools and other business changes, ensuring seamless transition to business as usual
  • Ensure required consistency with other franchise-aligned planning teams in standards, processes and tools
  • Advocate greater use of automation/digitalisation and drive system data/parameterisation quality improvements. Build capabilities in planner community to ensure data accuracy and completeness, including data accuracy KPIs
  • Functional system subject matter expert and first point of contact in the team for system related improvement / fixes, includes translating business requirement into system requirement, coordinate testing and rolling out of new system functionalities
  • Conduct or coordinate training, strengthening use of processes, systems and tools to improve efficiency and productivity

  • About You:

    To really excel in this position will require more than just strong technical knowledge, though that is important. This role must be able to work across many teams, colleagues and business areas, often across multiple sites and countries, in order to drive results, meaning you will need the ability to see the bigger picture and to connect the dots, as well as fantastic, flexible communication skills to bring all of these disparate parts together. You will need to be highly analytical, adept at interpreting digital data and turn it into insights to enable problem solving.

    As a performance manager, you will drive continuous improvement through robust conversations, including sometimes challenges. As such, you must be able to influence stakeholders up to VP level, articulating complex supply chain problems into easily understood solutions / recommendations. You will also be expected to lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects across a team of skilled supply chain professionals.

    Required Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent qualification/experience in an appropriate business or technical area
  • Expert knowledge of Supply Chain processes and systems architecture within a business environment
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain planning systems (APO SNP) and core data parameters that drive planning outcomes
  • Practical experience of driving continuous improvements
  • Hands on experience in a Supply Chain Planning role

  • Additional Skills:

  • Background/Education in Industrial Engineering
  • APICS qualification
  • Lean Six Sigma qualifications or other Continuous Improvement qualification beneficial
