Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Production Technician on a 2/3 rotation based in Aberdeen, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe and efficient operation and monitoring of Plant and associated Systems, including high frequency PMR work, documentation reporting and Log Keeping duties using handheld devices. The range of systems is extensive and includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Oil Production-Xmas Trees, Subsurface Safety Valves and Controls, Hydraulic Control Panels, Production Manifolds Test and Production Separators, Heat Exchangers, Produced Water Degassers and Hydrocyclone Packages, Booster and MOL Pumps and Prover Loops, Chemical Injection Packages, Pig Launchers, Main Oil Line SSV’s
  • Gas Compression-Reciprocal, screw & centrifugal Compressors, Scrubber Vessels, Heat Exchangers
  • Water Injection-Seawater Lift Pumps, Coarse Filter Packages, Heat Exchangers, Vacuum Deaeration Towers, Vacuum Pumps, Booster and Water Injection Pumps, Chemical Injection Packages
  • Support Systems-Gas Turbines, Emergency Diesel Generators, Emergency Firewater Pumps, Air Compressors, Hypochlorite Generator Package, utility systems and Laboratory Analysis.
  • Carry out the duties of “Performing Authority” P.A. and / or “AAA” affected area authority as per Integrated Safe System of Work (ISSOW)
  • Ensuring isolations are adequately identified, applied, tested, secured, and recording isolation points and method of isolation within ISSOW to ensure that Isolation Standards are complied with as per the requirements and CLients Electrical Rules
  • The Task Risk Assessment (TRA) Process is an integral part of all WCCs and should have knowledge and experience relevant to the activity carry out the Level 2 Risk Assessment. Monitors and maintain good Housekeeping conditions within Area of Responsibility as detailed in the Company Safety Practices and Procedures Manual.
  • Supports system depressurisation and venting pre activity and pressure or leak testing before start-up
  • Proactive member of the Offshore Operations Production Team, providing assistance and advice to Operations, maintenance coordinator, Centralised Maintenance Intervention team Leaders and installation Leadership Team in order to meet team deliverables and objectives as defined in the asset Business Plan
  • Participates in activity planning and execution e.g. shutdown co-ordination / preparation, carry out weekly review in preparation of tasks in the 7 day plan
  • Accountable for the preparation of equipment release for centralised maintenance activities
  • Diagnostic and remedial work/operations in the event of plant upsets in equipment using relevant P&ID’s, vendor manuals and other data to assist with corrective action
  • Regularly makes use of operation procedures which shall provide sufficient detail to allow equipment start up, shutdown in a safe manner understanding the potential hazards associated with the process or equipment involved
  • carry out a PSSR pre-start up safety review. Reviews content, ensures accuracy, highlights discrepancies in procedures and a good knowledge of Process Safety, able to initiate and follow through MOC where changes are required
  • Competent Opralog user maintains accurate and comprehensive records including, but not limited to: event logs, daily and trip handover documents, maintenance records, override logs

  • Essential Skills:

  • Industry recognised Apprenticeship and relevant qualification (minimum City and Guilds or equivalent) and background in individual power generation/distribution
  • Candidates should have proven Petrochemical competency and to demonstrate process operation and control aptitude and have the ability to compile technical reports with associated drawings as required, pertaining to Plant/Systems Operations
  • Demonstrate good teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a close, multi-discipline environment. Maintain positive and tactful relationships with others
  • Demonstrate proactive, flexible and positive attitude. Share knowledge freely with others to ensure best practices.
