Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer
for a duration of 12 months based in Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works as integrated member of the Project Team to achieve project delivery within safety, schedule, cost, and quality constraints
  • Monitor progress of work on the project and report any issues
  • Act as co-ordinator between Client, operator and contractors on all aspects of electrical scopes
  • Co-ordinate functional testing of electrical safety systems
  • Investigate technical problems
  • Responsible for delivery as part of the project team for achieving the target and completion of engineering documentation within the budget and schedule; ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with Asset priorities and schedules as set out in the project plan.
  • Preparation of engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
  • Identification of increase or reduction in scope and assist in raising the necessary support documents for Project Control Purpose
  • Be fully conversant with Petrofac / EPS Project HSEQ plan
  • Be fully aware of annual Safety Targets and safety behavior

  • Essential Skills:

  • Liaise with other disciplines in the execution of the work.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations
  • Computer literate in Microsoft packages and required engineering software packages.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with onshore and offshore personnel at all levels.

  • Qualifications:

  • Holds an HND in a relevant engineering discipline with sufficient post-qualification experience to be considered as possessing a strong working knowledge of their respective discipline. A sufficient level of experience should be in a relevant theatre of operation.

  • Specialist Discipline Skills Required for Contract
  • Able to work unsupervised specifying modifications to existing equipment or purchasing new equipment including but not limited to:
  • HV/LV switchgear
  • HV/LV electrical drives
  • Variable speed drives and thyristor controls
  • UPS systems
  • Power generation and distribution
  • Power system studies and electrical protection
  • Other associated electrical equipment with the Oil and Gas industry
