UTEC Geomarine is looking for a driven and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its shore based geo-engineering team.
The successful candidate will be able demonstrate track record and experience in conducting Geotechnical assessment and design of structures for use in the marine environment – from FEED, to detailed design stages (piles, mudmats, gravity foundations, jackup assessments, caissons, anchors etc.) all the way through to advising during the construction and even decommissioning phases.
You will have been involved in consultancy and reporting for large field developments, survey design and geotechnical investigations, including advanced in situ and laboratory testing. You will be conversant with cable and pipeline route analysis and engineering, incorporating ground modelling, burial risk assessments, burial assessments, performance analysis, investigative studies and trench tool modelling.
Although work mode will be onshore, our ideal candidate will also be willing to support the UTEC Geomarine business with occasional Offshore assignments in the construction and decommissioning phases of our clients projects. This ensures seamless transition from engineering to execution and industry leading service delivery.
You will be a strong communicator, proactive in nature, with an eye for detail and demonstrate a positive attitude towards safety.

Support the Principal Geotechnical Engineer and lead in the preparation and delivery of geotechnical studies, designs and reports.
Conduct and supervise data assessments and geotechnical analyses.
Client liaison and lead in the preparation of geotechnical reports.
Maintain time and project records and manage project costs.
Assist in the technical and commercial management and planning of the business.
Mentor trainee, junior and other geo engineering and site investigation staff when required.
First Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology or closely related subject supported by further academic study or practical experience in geotechnical survey and equipment development;
Previous experience working in the marine geotechnical site investigation environment.
Practical knowledge of ground investigation, geotechnical engineering and geological processes.
Our ideal candidate would be able and willing to undertake occasional offshore trips when required.
Active participation/membership of a professional organization such as the Institution of Civil Engineers, Geological Society, Society for Underwater Technology.
Proficient in the geotechnical industry finite element analysis and modelling software suites.
