Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Senior Instrument & Control Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Great Yarmouth, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instrumentation & control engineering technical support to, and implement instructions from, the Lead Engineer.
  • Take ownership of instrumentation & control technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the Lead Engineer.
  • Provide supervision, direction and support to project specific instrumentation & control engineers and graduate engineers.
  • Ensure the instrumentation & control engineering support provided satisfies the appropriate asset safety case and that the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, Emergency Response (PFEER) performance standards are not compromised by any instrumentation & control engineering activity.
  • Review of job progress and cost reports regarding instrumentation & control engineering activities.
  • Ensure that all instrumentation & control design changes are captured by the change control process.
  • Ensure that all instrumentation & control engineering work is carried out in accordance with asset priorities and schedules as set out in the integrated plan.
  • Ensure as far as possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.
  • Comply with Petrofac engineering procedures and industry, international and Client codes and standards relevant to the discipline.
  • Preparation of engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
  • Prepare estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules.
  • Providing documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books on time to meet offshore deadlines.
  • Produce cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe.
  • Participate as necessary in discussions with clients and visit job sites as required including offshore.
  • Assist the lead discipline engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.
  • Ensure that all instrumentation & control work complies with project and Petrofac health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures; project specific HSE and quality plans; and agreed interfacing requirements with sub-contractors as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all instrumentation & control activities are carried out with all appropriate consideration to the safety of the labour and the Asset itself.
