Duties & Responsibilities
Assisting Technical Management Team with operational execution, technology development/ validation and inspection enquiries. Carry out competency testing and training for SIS staff. Carry out Specialist Inspection activities on sites within the UK, Offshore and Overseas. Travel alone or as part of a team and to be self sufficient and organised in pre job equipment preparation, execution and post job activities.
Dealing with client enquiries, organisation and execution of jobs following work instructions, with specific emphasis on specialist techniques.
Required to assist SIS Management in day to day activities.
Responsible for equipment, maintenance and QHSE (Oceaneering and Client) documentation control. This will include current SIS equipment, but also keeping abreast of technical developments within the industry and assessing if the technology will benefit the department.
To further train and qualify in Standard and Non-Standard NDT disciplines as well as perform In-House Training for all grades of Engineers.
Maintaining the sample diary and assessing the requirements for sample acquisition.
Working alongside the SIS Technical Management Team in maintaining procedures relating to the chosen discipline, generating techniques and managing the quality control of the method.
Assist the Technical Management Team in Business development, including up-dating information sheets and attending open days and workshops.
Takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities and provides regular performance feedback.
Travel alone or as part of a team, to be self sufficient and organised in pre job preparation, execution and post job activities including reporting and job file completion.

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems of the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
SIS Technical Manager – Mechanical Engineering
Standard NDT qualifications to Level 2 as a minimum.
Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have complete knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD and Manufacturer specific software for advanced technologies.
Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
Honours Degree in an associated Engineering or NDT discipline preferred.
Level 3 standard or non-standard NDT qualification for one discipline or the capacity to work towards the qualification.
Ten years experience and training with an Inspection organisation, including Oil, Gas and Power Generation environments.
Experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in structural and mechanical drafting/design or related field.
Gain sufficient qualifications and experience to satisfy the accreditation requirements for UK engineering council.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
